Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\. SBP greater than or equal to 140 and less than 160 mmHg in right upper limb in sitting position
- •2\. BMI less than 30 kg per square meter
- •3\. Age more than or equal to 18 years and less than 60 years
- •4\. Male and female subjects
- •5\. Subjects willing to refrain from taking antihypertensive medication for the duration of the trial
- •6\. Subjects willing to give voluntary informed consent
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\. Age greater than 60 years
- •2\. Subjects on anti\-hypertensive medication
- •3\. SBP greater than 160 mmHg or DBP greater than 100 mmHg
- •4\. Pregnant women
- •5\. Subjects with diagnosed diabetes mellitus
- •6\. Subjects with established cardiovascular disease renal disease or any severe systemic illness
- •7\. Alcohol drinkers (More than 2 pegs per day)
- •8\. Tobacco Users (cigarettes, gutka, tobacco)
- •9\. Taking medication that affects BP.
