- Brief Summary
This is a randomized clinical split mouth study to evaluatethe clinical efficacy of sub-gingivally delivered ozone as an adjunct to scalingand root plaing in patients undergoing non-surgical treatment of chronicperiodontitis. It is a split-mouth study.
Study design :
Group 1 consisting of 15 sites with 4-7mm pockets, receivingozone as a local drug delivery agent along with scaling and root planning.
Group 2 consisting of 15 sites with 4-7mm pockets, receivingundergoing scaling and root planning alone.
The clinical parameters [ plaque index, gingival index,relative attachment loss, probing pocket depth , modified sulcular bleedingindex]will be evaluated at baseline, one month and three month period.

1)Adult patients 2)Bilateral periodontal sites, presence of at least one site in each quadrant with a probing depth of 5-7mm 3)Absence of systemic disease.
- Absence of dental implants 2) Use of bisphosphonates 12 months prior to entry in the study 3) Pregnant/ lactating women 4) Anti-cancer therapy.
