Brief Summary

I would like to conduct this research as a part of fulfilling the requirements of PhD program in Nursing under Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

This study aims to evaluate the impact of a Nurse Engagement Program (NEP) on key outcomes in two acute care hospitals. Specifically, it will assess how the program affects nurses’ engagement, their work-related well-being, the patient experience, and selected Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).



Primary objectives - Develop and validate nurse engagement program, Evaluate the effectiveness of the nurse engagement program on nurses’ work engagement and work well-being



Secondary objective: Evaluate the effectiveness of the nurse engagement program on patient experience and selected KPIs

Inclusion Criteria
  • Registered nurses who have been employed at the facility and competed their probation period.
  • Patients aged more than 18 years of age who have received care from the selected units for the study.
Exclusion Criteria
  • Nurses on extended leave or those who are not directly involved in patient care 2.
  • Patients who are unable to provide informed consent due to cognitive impairments or language barriers.
