Inclusion Criteria

All midline laparotomy cases – including retroperitoneal tumour cases, GI malignancy

cases

-Patients presenting with features of perforation peritonitis

-Cases of trauma requiring midline exploratory laparotomy

Exclusion Criteria

- Age below 18 years

- Cases requiring re-exploration of abdomen

- Patients who expire in the immediate postoperative period of systemic causes

- Accidental removal of drain

- Patients requiring ileostomy/colostomy
