•.Those infants for whom informed consent has been obtained from the parents/guardians
•.Outborn or inborn neonates born between 37-42 weeks of gestation (term gestation) born at KLEâ??s Hospital Belagavi, KLEâ??s Satellite centres.
•.Already diagnosed outborn neonates with proof of Perinatal Asphyxia
•.Term neonates requiring prolonged resuscitation or intubation
•.Cord ABG showing Ph of <7 or base deficit of more than or equal to 12-16 mmol/l

•.Term neonates without perinatal Asphyxia
•.Outborn neonates without proof of Perinatal Asphyxia
•.Neonates with significant Congenital anomaly
•.Infants for whom informed consent was not obtained as well as the infants to which parents/guardians have not given consent.
