Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •1\. Acute head injury.
  • •2\. Mild traumatic brain injury defined as
  • •a) GCS 13 to15
  • •b) loss of consciousness for 30 minutes or less
  • •c) duration of posttraumatic amnesia of 24 hours or less
  • •3\. Age group of 20 to 60 years.
  • •4\. Lower extremity surgery for trauma.

Exclusion Criteria

  • •1\. Associated systemic injury eg.,chest and abdomen.
  • •2\. Patients expected to undergo multiple surgery.
  • •3\. Patients with other systemic illness.
  • •4\. Patients with any contraindication for regional anaesthesia eg.,coagulopathy
  • •5\. The patients of the reginal anaesthesia group in whom the neuraxial block will be
  • •ineffective or doubtful will be excluded from the study and administered general
  • •anaesthesia.
