Effectiveness of educational intervention using visual intervention tool on breastfeeding practices and LATCH score in postnatal mothers at a tertiary care hospital.

This study is a Pre-post intervention study (Quasi-Experimental) that will assess the effectiveness of a visual tool based educational intervention, in the form of an animated video in improving breastfeeding practices in primiparous breastfeeding mothers. Mothers will be assessed using the LATCH scoring system designed by Jensen et al. It will also assess the proportion of mothers who wish to practice exclusive breastfeeding. It will be conducted in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Goa Medical College. The primary outcome measure will be LATCH score at baseline and post-intervention.
