Inclusion Criteria

  • Acute watery diarrhoea of less than three days’ duration and presence of dehydration.

Exclusion Criteria

  • Bloody diarrhoea
  • Concomitant illness including malignancy, sepsis, and a history of coronary artery disease or stroke.
