Inclusion Criteria
1 Has at least one primary caregiver a blood relative or A person whom client stays with more than a year and who is willing to participate
2. Has ICD 10 diagnosis of bipolar affective disorder.
Exclusion Criteria
1.Patients enrolled for any other psychological therapy
2. Primary care giver with mental illness
3. Patient has co-morbid major mental illness (alcohol dependence /other psychiatric diagnosis).

Name Time Method The study is expected to assess the effect of FFNI on functional improvement of clients with bipolar affective disorder using LIFE-RIFT (Longitudinal Interval Follow-up Evaluation-Range of Impaired Functioning Tool) <br/ ><br>and FAST (Functional Assessment Short Test) .Timepoint: at admission, at discharge, one month, 2nd month followup.
