1.Patients of clinically diagnosed type 2 diabetes mellitus with or without diabetic peripheral neuropathy.
2.Controls are selected from the patients visiting the hospital for minor ailments. They neither have diabetes mellitus nor peripheral neuropathy.
1.Patients with other causes of peripheral neuropathy like vitamin defeciencies- B1, B12 and niacin deficiencies, alcohol intoxication, lead poisoning, pre malignant conditions, chronic diseases like chronic kidney disease, chronic heart disease or chronic liver disease, amyloid deposition disorders, leprosy, HIV, sarcoidosis, rheumatoid disease, consumption of herbal preparations, acute infections, diabetic ketoacidosis, various drugs like isoniazid, phenytoin, vincristine, nitrofurantoin will be excluded on basis of clinical history and examination.
2.Patient having ulcers on ankle over the site of measurements will be excluded.
3.Subjects who refuse to give consent for participation in the study.
