•Patient who consent to be part of study.
•Above 18 years of age
•Patient with type 2 diabetes and treatment under oral hypoglycaemics
•Patients indicated for dental extraction
1•Patients unable to give consent through physical or mental disability
2•Dento-alveolar infection in relation to the pertaining tooth to be extracted.
3•Type 1 diabetes and insulin dependent
4•Type 2 diabetes; HIV/AIDS; chemotherapy; systemic steroids; irradiation to the head and neck; bisphosphonates; anticoagulant and antiplatelet treatment; and major benign or malignant pathology within the jaws.
