INCLUSION CRITERIA
1.Patients coming for implant treatment in the Department of Prosthodontics, Govt. Dental College, Kozhikode and willing to participate in the study.
2.Patients who need single tooth replacement in the anterior maxillary area.
3.Patients of age ranging from 20-50 years with adequate oral hygiene.
4.The tooth has to be extracted for one of the following reasons: horizontal or vertical fracture, destructive caries, internal resorption and endodontic problems not treatable with root canal therapy.
EXCLUSION CRITERIA.
1.Pregnant and lactating females
2.Patients with poor general health condition like uncontrolled diabetes, with severe immune suppression, undergoing radiotherapy, and/or chemotherapy, for head and neck malignancies, autoimmune diseases, patients treated with amino bisphosphonates and long-term steroid therapy.
3.Patients with active periodontitis or acute infection or presence of a fistula and tooth with a grade 2 mobility or more in the area intended for implant placement.
4.Patients who are substance abusers, or with psychiatric problems.
5.Patients with parafunctional habits such as bruxism, clenching, excessive gum chewing, lip or fingernail biting.
