•Arm 1: preterm neonates, born in the Universitäts-Frauenklinik Göttingen.
•- Arm 2: term neonates, born in the Universitäts-Frauenklinik Göttingen.
•- retrospective arm: preterm and term neonates, born in the Universitäts-Frauenklinik Göttingen, whose parents agreed in the use of their data for clinical trials within the latest data protection regulation from the Universitätsmedizin Göttingen.
•Further inclusion criteria for all arms: signed declaration of consent by their parents/ custodians.

•- For all arms: expected parental emotional instability due to tragic clinical course of a sibling or the neonate itself.
•- congenital anomalies (incl. esophageal atresia, gastroschisis, enteroschisis, megacystis-microcolon-intestinal hypoperistalsis syndrome (MMIHS), omphalocele, duodenal atresia, anal atresia).
