Inclusion Criteria
Intubated intensive care patients under analgosedation
- Invasive arterial blood pressure measurement
- Presence of a study physician on admission of the patient to the intensive care unit
Exclusion Criteria
- Refusal by the patient
- Anatomical conditions that prohibit the insertion of an oesophageal temperature probe
- Patients who have taken or been administered antipyretics (antipyretics, barbiturates, thyroid preparations, antipsychotics, etc.) in the previous 120 minutes
- Vaccination in the last seven days
- Blockage/obstruction of the ear canal
- Inflammation in the measurement site
- Use of barbiturates, thyroid medication or antipsychotics within the last three hours
