- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Maximal exercise performance is determined using an incremental exercise test performed on a calibrated electromagnetically braked cycle ergometer. Continuous measurement of inspired and expired oxygen and carbon dioxide output are done using in-line sensors together with spirometry. These parameters are then used to the calculation of VO2 (oxygen uptake)[before and one year after surgery]
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Oxygen pulse at maximal exercise is determined as the ratio of VO2 to heart rate[before and one year after surgery]
