Asymptomatic medical students of both sexes, between the age of 18-25, studying in Kasturba Medical College, with one or more first degree relative diagnosed with hypertension and are willing to consent to the study were considered as the study sample.
Subjects with known cardiovascular and respiratory diseases and those on medication for the same were excluded. Subjects unwilling to consent to the study were also excluded.
