Participants: Inclusion Criteria:
•Inborn babies with gestational age equal to or more than 37 weeks
Diagnosis of MAS will be based on the following criteria
•Delivery through MSAF
•Development of respiratory distress within 4 hours after birth and persistence beyond 24 hours.
•Chest X-ray showing features of infiltrations, hyperinflation and atelectasis.
•Absence of any other cause to explain the respiratory distress.
•Parents signing the informed consent.
Exclusion Criteria:
•Babies with major congenital anomalies
•Babies with Meconium stained amniotic fluid without respiratory distress
•New borns with Transient tachypnea of newborn (TTN), Hyaline membrane disease (HMD) , sepsis as initial diagnosis
