Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Patients who give written informed consent.
  • Patients aged 18\-60 yrs.
  • Patients scheduled for elective surgery under General anesthesia ( \<2hrs)
  • Patients with ASA (American society of anesthesiologists) grade I \& II

Exclusion Criteria

  • Patients refusing to participate in the study.
  • Patients having ongoing acute infections.
  • Patients with preoperative sore throat
  • Patients with electrolyte abnormalities.
  • Patients with hepatic and renal dysfunction.
  • Patients with chronic alcohol abuse.
  • Patients on long term analgesic therapy.
  • Patients with history of endocrine disease inclusive of diabetes mellitus.
  • Morbid obesity, chronic use of steroids or immunosuppressant or recent chemotherapy.
  • Patients with difficult airway.
