Inclusion Criteria

Patients receiving ECMO therapy in intensive care units (Ward 0117 and 0118) of the anesthesiology department in Göttingen due to lung failure.

Exclusion Criteria

- Age <18 Years
- Rejection of study participation
- Contraindications for an MRI scan:
o Implanted pacemakers
o Magnetic-metallic implants
o Body weight over 180 kg or body circumference> 160 cm.
o claustrophobia
