Newborn born at 37-42 weeks gestation, Vaginal Birth, Vertex Presentation
1. Maternal blood group of either O or Rh-ve serotype
2. Pre-delivery Maternal anemia of Hb <10
3. Any congenital anomaly: Detected during antenatal period or after birth
4. Fetal heart rate tracing concerning for intrapartum compromise
5. No Cry at birth, Neonate needing any form of resuscitation during resuscitation
6. If the placental circulation is not intact, such as a placental abruption, bleeding placenta previa, bleeding vasa previa, or cord avulsion (These are the indications of immediate clampling of cord)
7. Multiple Gestation, or other high risk factors present like Gestational diabetes, maternal hypertension, Ultrasonography suggestive of fetus is compromised in utero, Intrauterine Growth Restriction, Meconium stained liquor, Known or Recently diagnosed Chronic Medical Disease.
