Preterm infants with or without later development of BPD and a gestational age (GA) = 32 weeks from the AIRR study (DRKS 00004600) with BPD (Arm 1) and without BPD (Arm 2).
Exclusion criteria were severe congenital malformations (e.g. hypoplastic left-heart syndrome, severe hypoplasia of the lungs or congenital diaphragmatic hernia),
chromosomal abnormalities (e.g. trisomy 13 or 18) , inborn errors of metabolism, and decision for palliative therapy directly after birth.
