Translation and Validation of the Highly Sensitive Person Scale into Kannada

The Kannada version of the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) scale will be translated  and validated through a structured process. Two bilingual translators will independently translate the scale into Kannada, and their versions will be reconciled into a single draft. An independent bilingual translator will then perform a back-translation to ensure accuracy of meaning. A review committee will assess the translations for clarity, consistency, and cultural relevance. The finalized version will be evaluated by a panel of professionals, including audiologists, a Kannada language expert, and a linguist, to check naturalness, clarity, and appropriateness. Following this, cognitive debriefing with native Kannada speakers will be conducted to confirm understanding. The refined version will then be field-tested with 270 participants, including bystanders at the Audiology OPD, to confirm its reliability and applicability.
