The inclusion criteria were LE symptoms for more than 3 months, with LE defined as pain on the lateral side of the elbow, pain at the lateral epicondyle region on resisted extension of the wrist, and tenderness at the lateral epicondyle on direct palpation.
The exclusion criteria were age younger than 18 years, corticosteroid injection within the past 6 months, previous surgery on the involved elbow, inflammatory diseases (e.g., rheumatoid arthritis or psoriatic arthritis), neck or shoulder pain on the ipsilateral side, and inability to complete a self-reported questionnaire.
