Inclusion Criteria

Subjective desire to reduce their alcohol consumption
- Sufficient command of the German language
- Consent to participate in three anonymous 20-minute online surveys

Exclusion Criteria

- No acute suicidal tendencies (BDI-II item suicidal tendencies = 2)
- no schizophrenia or bipolar disorder

Primary Outcome Measures

Visual analogue scale (VAS): a visual analogue scale from 0 (not at all/never) to 100 (very strong/ always) measuring alcohol craving over the last seven days using three items (strength of cravings during periods of non-drinking; strongest craving for alcohol; frequency of craving for alcohol). VAS is administered at baseline, post (6 weeks) and follow-up (12 weeks).
