Open Randomised Controlled Clinical trial of Patolyadi Kwath in the management of dushtavrana
TRIAL GROUP DRUG : Patolyadi Kwath
CONTROL GROUP : BETADINE SOLUTION
CONTENTS: Patol, Nimba
CRITERIA FOR WOUND ASSESSMENT:
A] SUBJECTIVE PARAMETERS:
1] PAIN (*shool)*
0=No pain
1=Mild (Patient can bear pain without analgesics)
2=Moderate (Patient respond to analgesics)
3=Severe (Patient does not respond to analgesics)
2] DISCHARGE (*STRAVA)*
0=No discharge.
1=scanty serous discharge & little wet dressing.
2=Often discharge and pus on dressing.
3=Profuse pus discharge which need frequent dressing.
OBJECTIVE PARAMETERS:
1] FOUL SMELL (*GANDHA*):
Present/Absent.
2]GRANULATION.
3=Complete granulation.
2=More granulation (>75%) &less pus (<25%).
1=Equal granulations and pus.
0=Less granulations (<25%) & more pus(>75%).
3] SIZE OF WOUND:.
0=Less than 1 Sq.cm.
1=1 to 2 Sq.cm.
2=2 to 3 Sq.cm.
3=3 to 4 Sq.cm.
Time points - daily dressing for 21 days . Assessment of wound will be done on day 1 , day 7 , day 14 and day 21 .
SAMPLE SIZE - 80 patients
40 patients in trail group and 40 patients in control group

- Patients of any Gender.
- All patients with dushta vrana.
- Age below 18 yrs .
- Lepromatous ulcer, malignant ulcer.
- Diabetic ulcer.
- Gangrenous ulcer.
- Varicose ulcer -specific ulcers like Syphilitic ulcer, Tuberculous, Gonorrhoeal ulcer.

Name Time Method Patolyadi kwath is more effective in management of dushtavrana as compared to betadine solution. Daily dressing will be done for 21 days . Assesment of wound will be done on day 1 , day 7 , day 14 and day 21
- Secondary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method Patolyadi kwath is less effective than betadine solution in management of dushtavrana. daily dressing will be done for 21 days
