Inclusion Criteria

Inclusion criteria for rectal NET group
?The patients with rectal NET which is confirmed by histological examination of endoscopic biopsy specimen and whose age ranges from 20 to 75 years
?The patients who visit the department of Gastroenterology of Asan Medical Center for the endoscopic resection of rectal NET
?Those whose rectal NET shows no metastases on abdominopelvic CT/MRI and chest radiograph
?The patients have no evidence of synchronous upper gastrointestinal NET at the esophagogastrodudenoscopy within 6 months before enrollment
?Those who agree with the informed consents the study

Inclusion criteria for control group
?Age- & sex-matched healthy subjects from those who undergo routine health check-up at the Health Promotion Center of Asan Medical Center
?Those who do not have rectal NET at screening colonoscopy
?Those who do not have gastric NET at screening esophagogastroduodenoscopy
?Those who agree with the informed consents the study

Exclusion Criteria

Exclusion criteria for both rectal NET and control group
?Those who had the past history of extra-rectal NET which had been treated or not.
?Those who have other medical conditions that may increase the plasma CgA level: chronic kidney disease, chronic heart failure, atrophic body gastritis with pernicious anemia
