Brief Summary

Toreduce the side effects of both tramadol and diclofenac, combination oftramadol and diclofenac with half of the standard dose of the both drugs were tried in thisstudy. Our Medline searchto best of our ability, did not find any study which has evaluated/comparedrectal tramadol (100 mg) with combination of rectal tramadol50mg and rectal diclofenac 50mg. Thus, the aim of the study wasto compare the analgesic efficacy and side effect profile between the rectaltramadol 100mg with combination of rectal tramadol 50mg and rectal diclofenac50mg in patients undergoing lower abdominal surgeries.

Inclusion Criteria
  • 1.ASA class 1 and 2 2.
  • Undergoing elective lower abdominal surgeries under spinal anaesthesia.
Exclusion Criteria

1.ASA status more than 2; 2.major co-existing medical illness such as severe asthma, uncontrolled hypertension or diabetes; peptic ulcer disease or gastrointestinal bleeding; 3.already on long-term analgesics 4.known hypersensitivity to any of the study medications.
