Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Be resident in the cities of Petrolina / PE or Juazeiro / BA; present age between 40 and 60 years; be sedentary; (ABPM) with mean values of 24h, wakefulness or sleep greater than 125, or 110 mmHg, respectively in the systolic BP or greater than 75, or 70 mmHg, respectively in the diastolic BP, which characterizes the individual with BP elevated according to VI Brazilian Guidelines on Hypertension (2010\); body mass index above 25 kg / m².

Exclusion Criteria

  • The BP, although elevated as highlighted in the previous item, should be controlled during resting measures performed in a laboratory environment, being lower than 160 and 105 mmHg for systolic and diastolic BP, respectively; to present systemic hypertension diagnosed; presenting cardiometabolic diseases or dysfunctions in the health history, such as musculoskeletal limitations, that may compromise physical integrity and participation in the study, mainly diseases of the cardiovascular system; make use of some type of drug related to blood pressure control during the study participation, if they use for other purposes inform the researcher; the maintenance of the proposed training frequency.
