Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • •At least one of the following criteria:
  • •\- Clinical sign(s) of infection, e.g. fever (calor), redness (rubor), impaired organ function (functio laesa)
  • •\- Paraclinical signs of infection: CRP \= 15mg/l and/or leukocytes outside the age\-appropriate norm
  • •\- Planned antiinfective therapy
  • •\- Microbiological/virological infection diagnostics

Exclusion Criteria

  • •\- Presence of medical reasons that speak against the withdrawal of blood volume
  • •\- Imprisonment
  • •\- Person with unclear or invalid insurance status
