1.Subjects who undergo elective fistulotomy in case of low anal fistula, with a wound length of at least 2 cms; as per Parkâ??s classification, intersphincteric and low transphincteric fistula involving less than 1/3rd of external anal sphincter fibres are included.
2.Selection of subjects will be done irrespective of sex, religion, occupation, economic and educational status.
1. Subjects who have undergone fistulotomy in case of secondary anal fistula caused by specific pathology such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Crohnâ??s disease, Tuberculosis are to be excluded.
2. Positive cases for Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Venereal Disease Research Laboratory (VDRL) and Hepatitis-B.
3. Subjects with symptoms of faecal incontinence are to be excluded.
