Inclusion Criteria

Patients suffering from clinically diagnosed anal fissure in ano of more than 6 weeks of duration.

Exclusion Criteria

Patients with haemorrhoids, fistula, other anal pathologies or previous anal surgeries, cardiac patients and pregnant women were excluded from the study.

Patients suffering with chronic fissure in ano secondary to Ulcerative colitis, Crohnâ??s disease, anal/ rectal malignancy, rectal tuberculosis
