Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1\) CHILDREN ATTENDING ANY OF THE STUDY HEALTH CENTRES FOR THEIR 12\-MONTH CRED VISIT;
- •2\) CHILDREN LIVING IN OR NEAR THE STUDY AREA (IN IQUITOS AND NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES).
Exclusion Criteria
- •1\) CHILDREN WHO ARE ATTENDING THE STUDY HEALTH CENTER FOR SUSPECTED STH INFECTION;
- •2\) CHILDREN WHO HAVE RECEIVED DEWORMING TREATMENT OR TREATMENT USING MEDICINAL PLANTS WITH PROBABLE ANTIPARASITIC ACTIVITY IN THE SIX MONTHS PRIOR TO RANDOMIZATION;
- •3\) PARENTS PLANNING TO MOVE OUTSIDE THE STUDY AREA WITHIN THE NEXT 12 MONTHS;
- •4\) CHILDREN UNDER 12 MONTHS OF AGE OR OVER 14 MONTHS OF AGE; AND
- •5\) CHILDREN WITH SERIOUS CONGENITAL OR CHRONIC MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND WHO WOULD BE CONSIDERED BY THE ATTENDING STAFF NOT TO BENEFIT FROM DEWORMING.
