- •-Required central venous pressure catheter or pulmonary artery catheter insertion
- •-Consent to participate in research

- •-Co-existing pulmonary disease: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with Forced Expiratory Volume in 1 second (FEV1) < 50%
- •-Co-existing liver disease
- •-End-stage renal disease
- •-Patients with sepsis

- •-Thoracic aortic surgery
