Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Subjects who have already decided in advance to have their ear pierced bilaterally through the crus of the helix
  • \- Diagnosis of migraine
  • \- No or stable migraine prophylaxis
  • \- Sufficient ability to answer questions orally and in writing
  • \- Sufficient ability to keep a headache diary
  • \- Written informed consent

Exclusion Criteria

  • \- Revocation of consent
  • \- Getting further ear piercings during the study period
  • \- Other primary or secondary headache disease
  • \- Severe psychiatric, neurological and internal comorbidities
  • \- Pathology of the outer ear
  • \- Pregnancy
  • \- Drug abuse
  • \- Pharmacotherapy with psychoactive substances within the past 14 days
