Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Patient who require rapid sequence induction (RSI) during general anaesthesia for urgent/emergent abdomino\-pelvic surgeries.
- •Patient aged 18 years and above,who are competent to give informed consent
Exclusion Criteria
- •Pregnant females at any gestational age.
- •Patients with severe cardio\-respiratory disease.
- •Clinical suspicion or confirmed diagnosis of base of skull fracture or severe facial trauma that precludes nasal cannula placement.
- •Contraindications to the rapid sequence induction, if any (e.g. already intubated patients).
- •BMI \>\=40kg/m2
- •Patients with laryngotracheal stenosis or benign or malignant hypopharyngeal obstruction
