- •2. Index stroke between two weeks and three months prior to randomisation
- •Are the trial subjects under 18? no

排除标准
- •1. >70% extra-cranial internal carotid artery stenosis
- •2. Known coronary arterial disease
- •3. Significant co-morbidity
- •4. Contra-indication to or indication for administration of allopurinol
- •5. Contra-indication to administration of acetazolamide
- •6. Concurrent azathioprine or 6-mercaptopurine therapy
- •7. Serum creatinine concentration greater than 250 micromoles per litre
