DUERER I
Study arm 1 includes residents of nursing homes with a minimum age of 70 years and a CFS (Clinical Frailty Scale) value <8. Knowledge of the German language is required (at level B1 according to the assessment of the therapeutic staff) in order to participate in the sessions and to be able to pass the listed assessments. In addition, the presence of a declaration of consent (if necessary by the counsellor) is required.
DUERER II
Study arm 2 includes relatives (caring partners, children) of persons with dementia who are connected to a specialist centre for caring relatives and dementia in Nuremberg. Knowledge of the German language is required. Inclusion criteria include an age >18 years and the existence of a declaration of consent.
DUERER I
Residents with end-of-life care are just as excluded as residents with behaviour that is harmful to others. Residents who are unable to participate in group settings due to mental illness (e.g. paranoid schizophrenia in the acute stage) are also excluded. Furthermore, infectious residents and residents suspected of having a possible Covid 19 infection cannot participate in the study until the infection has been ruled out or until negative swabs have been taken after infection.
DUERER II
Exclusion criteria are severe mental disorders or infectious diseases that do not allow participation in a group. This applies in particular to the presence of clinical symptoms with suspected Covid-19 disease according to study arm 1.
