Inclusion Criteria

The study included 20- to 70-year-old patients with American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I, II, or III, who underwent elective upper extremity surgery under general anesthesia between October 2018 and October 2019.

Exclusion Criteria

The exclusion criteria were patients who were unsuitable for surgery using LMA; patients undergoing nasal, oral, or laparoscopic surgery; patients who needed a position change during surgery; patients who were in a group at high risk of aspiration (full stomach, previous gastrointestinal surgery); patients with a known or predicted difficult airway, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or respiratory tract pathology; and patients with preoperative sore throat.
