Exclusion Criteria
The exclusion criteria are the patients treated with insulin, cirrhosis or deranged liver function at baseline; prior history of heart failure (both systolic and diastolic), myocardial infarction, or symptomatic coronary artery disease; significant aortic or mitral valve heart disease; New York Heart Association (NYHA) class 3 or 4 cardiac status; thyroid disease, or malignant tumour; history of gastrointestinal or other major bleeding within the last 6 months; and treatment with steroids.
