Brief Summary

Given the large number of surgeries performed in children, it is imperative to optimize the surgical outcome by reducing the perioperative anxiety in both children and their parents. The methods should be employed according to the age and developmental stage of child. In this study we will use comic books, videos, toys for preoperative education to reduce anxiety in young pediatric patients.

Inclusion Criteria
  • Patients parents willing to participate.
  • Patients 4-11 years of age.
  • Patients with no developmental delay.
  • ASA grade 1-2 patients.
  • Operative procedure requiring General Anaesthesia.
Exclusion Criteria

Patients with hearing impairments, verbal communication problems.
