简要总结

AIM:

To compare the effectiveness of muscle energy technique and positional release technique for improving calf flexibility and balance in fencers.

Objectives:

To find out effectiveness of MET and PRT for pain threshold and anterior balance for improving calf flexibility in fencers.

Study design :- randomized clinical trial

Duration of study:- 1 year

Study setting:- Sports complex in Aurangabad.

Study population :- Male Fencers age between 18 to 25 yr old

Sample size:- 42

Sampaling Method:- Random Sampling Method

Type of data :- Primary Data

Study materials:- Measuring tape ,couch,weighing machine,

Variables

Independent variables:- Age, Gender.

Dependent variables:- Y- balance test, Pressure Algometer,

Dynamic lunge test.

INCLUSION CRITERIA:

Gender –Males

Fencers age group between 18 to 25.

who are practicing regularly since 3 years.

Participant with inform consent.

EXCULUSION CRITERIA:

Major trauma to lower limb

Recent ligament and tendon injury in lower limb

Any lower limb surgery

Any acute lower limb pain

Fencers were selected according to inclusion criteria that are coming to  they are divided into two groups group A and group B.Participant  will be screened  from the sports complex of Aurangabad and purpose of study will be explained to them. the height and weight of each player will be recorded to calculate the BMI .

Group A- received MET

Group B- received PRT

Pre test both groups were first assist dynamic lunge test , y balance test and pressure algometer measurement taken (baseline).Post test after treatment again this basic out come will be measured.

CONCLUSION

On the basis of the present study, it can be concluded that Muscle Energy Technique and

Positional release technique both are effective for improving pain threshold, anterior balance,

and calf flexibility in fencers. Muscle Energy Technique resulted in Maximum improvement

when compared to the Positional release technique on calf flexibility in fencers.
