简要总结

Abstract****Background: Effective communication is essential for quality healthcare delivery, particularly in psychiatric settings where hospital attendants and security personnel are often the first point of contact for patients and families. Limited research exists on soft skills training for non-clinical staff in India.

Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of a structured soft skills training program on improving communication skills, job satisfaction, and confidence levels among hospital attendants and security personnel at the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), Delhi.

Methods: A quantitative, pre-experimental one-group pre-test–post-test design will be used. A purposive sample of 82 participants (hospital attendants and security staff) will be selected. Baseline communication skills, job satisfaction , and confidence level  will be assessed. Participants will undergo a 6-hour soft skills training program covering communication techniques, empathy, conflict resolution, de-escalation strategies, and professional boundaries. Post-test assessments will be conducted to evaluate changes. Data will be analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired t-tests, and Pearson’s correlation.

Expected Outcomes: The intervention is anticipated to significantly improve communication skills, job satisfaction, and confidence levels, with positive correlations among these variables.

Conclusion: The study seeks to fill a gap in training non-clinical hospital staff in psychiatric settings and could inform context-specific interventions to enhance patient care and staff well-being in similar healthcare environments.
