Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •Two single root teeth per patient with persistent periodontal pockets (ST 5mm/BOP \+ or 6mm and \<10mm) in one jaw, in different quadrants and at a distance of one tooth.
- •\- The examination will be performed on 50 patients.
- •\- Patient is regularly aware of the supportive periodontitis therapy
- •\- It is a periodontal disease with a slow or moderate rate of progression.
- •\- A maximum of 20% smokers are to be admitted to the patient collective.
- •\- The last antibiotic should have been taken at least 12 weeks ago.
Exclusion Criteria
- •\- Taking antibiotics during the study period
- •\- Increase of probing depths \= 2mm
- •\- Development of a periodontal abscess
- •\- Pus drainage over the pocket
- •\- simultaneous periodontitis treatment elsewhere during the study period
- •\- Tooth extraction of the selected teeth
- •\- Need for antibiotic prophylaxis
- •\- Serious general diseases that have a significant influence on the immune system (e.g. HIV, autoimmune diseases, cancer, poorly controlled diabetes mellitus, etc.)
- •\- Haemorrhagic diathesis
- •\- taking bisphosphonates or blood\-thinning drugs
