The results of scar assessment using Total Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS) in PDS group showed (mean+/- SD) 6.06 +/- 2.17, 3.25 +/- 1.84, 1.00 +/- 1.21 and in polyglactin group showed (mean+/- SD) 5.50 +/- 1.71, 3.00 +/- 1.51, 1.31+/- 1.25 at 2, 4, and 12 weeks post-surgery respectively There is no statistically significant differences between the two groups at each time point (P value 0.423, 0.677, and 0.478) respectively

入选标准

•including both benign and malignant between the ages of 18 to 60 years old undergoing thyroid surgery at Thammasat University Hospital from February 10th to November 30th, 2019 were included in this trial

排除标准

•patients who undergo thyroid surgery combined with neck dissection involving levels 1-5; previous history of neck surgery; history of hypertrophic scars and/or keloids at other locations; history of neck irradiation, patients who experience post-operative bleeding requiring re-operation to control bleeding and patients requiring re-operative thyroid surgery (completion thyroidectomy).
