Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •1st ever ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke (lacunar infarcts are tolerable)
- •Age \> 18\. LJ
- •Capacity to consent
- •Ability to complete study investigations
- •Neglect Group:
- •Neglect group (one or more of the following findings):
- •Gaze preference to the side of the lesion.
- •Impaired visuospatial and motor \- exploration in the contralesional space.
- •Inability to respond to stimuli in the contralesional space
- •At least 2 abnormal neglect tests
Exclusion Criteria
- •Multiple strokes / history of stroke (except small lacunes)
- •brainstem / cerebellar infarcts
- •extensive vascular leukencephalopathy (Fazekas \>II)
- •respiratory / cardiac insufficiency
- •edema (displacement of midline structures, compression of CSF spaces)
- •neurodegenerative disease (MoCA\<20\)
- •Acute psychiatric disease with limited insight
- •Active tumor with life expectancy \<1 year
- •skin irritation around the mastoid
- •Epilepsy (except symptomatic early seizures)
