Age between 18 and 65 years; ability to give fully informed consent and to undergo functional magnetic resonance imaging; written informed consent; diagnosis of alcohol use disorder according to DSM-5 (min. 2 AUD criteria).
Pregnancy or lactation; presence of severe heart disease or long QT syndrome; participants < 18 or > 65 years of age; psychosis or other severe psychiatric disorder; severe internistic and neurological comorbidities; use of psychotropic medication other than antidepressants from the group of serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) or mirtazapine and of pipamperone; Current drug abuse of amphetamines, opiates, benzodiazepines, and cocaine (urine drug screening); Contraindication to functional magnetic resonance imaging.
