Mechanically ventilated adults who are:
-being hospitalized in ICU
-being mechanically ventilated for > 24 hours
-being alert enough to participate
-with Glasgow Coma Scores (GCS) > 9 and therefore able to communicate
-hemodynamically stable
-able to hear, understand and respond
Mechanically ventilated adults who are:
-receiving continuous intravenous sedation
-with quadriplegia and skull injury that may affect listening to sound and using headphones
-not mentally competent and unable to communicate
-receiving resuscitation
-receiving inotropic agents and neuro muscular blockade
-addicted to recreational drugs or alcohol

- Primary Outcome Measures
Name Time Method There will be changes in physiological parameters (Pulse ,B.P., Respiration)and psychological parameters(Anxiety and Agitation) after the intervention.Timepoint: Assessment will be done at baseline, 30th minute of intervention, 60th minute of intervention and 30 min after intervention (i.e.,90th minute) .
