Study Overview
Brief Summary
Intra-arterialcannulation, a frequently used method for continuous beat to beat bloodpressure monitoring, assessing fluid response, arterial blood gas analysis andfrequent blood sampling in the intraoperative period in major surgeries as wellas in the intensive care unit.Posterior tibialartery has larger diameter and has extensive collateral circulation. It hasbeen shown that cannulation of posterior tibial artery is comparable to radialartery cannulation and even better than the dorsalis pedis artery cannulation.**Hypothesis:**We hypothesize that ultrasound guided posteriorartery cannulation will be better than conventional Palpatory technique withrespect to first attempt success rates and decreasing the number of attempts.
**Aim:**Our aim is to compare Palpatory versus ultrasound guided posteriortibial artery cannulation with respect to first attempt success rates anddecreasing the number of attempts.
**Objective:**To compare the success rate of ultrasound guided versus conventional Palpatorymethod of posterior tibial artery cannulation for first time successfulcannulation.

Outcomes
Primary Outcomes
To compare the success rate of ultrasound guided versus conventional Palpatory method of posterior tibial artery cannulation for first time successful cannulation.
Time Frame: This is not applicable as single reading will be taken at the time of intra arterial cannulation.
Secondary Outcomes
- 1.To compare the number of attempts.(2.To compare the assessment time.)
