Willing to give valid consent
COPD patients undergoing bronchoscopy
Receiving HFNC before randomization
Nasal deformity or packing precluding HFNC use
Myocardial infarction (within 3 months)
Altered Sensorium
Heart rate below 50 beats/minute
Hemodynamic instability with systolic arterial blood pressure below 90 mm Hg
Respiratory rate above 35 breaths/minute despite oxygen therapy
Arterial pH <7.25 or the partial pressure of arterial oxygen below 45 mm Hg despite oxygen therapy
Facial surgery, trauma and any other contraindication for NIV
Those on home NIV
