Eligibility Criteria
Inclusion Criteria
- •(1\) Patients requiring unilateral hip or knee arthroplasty due to primary or secondary osteoarthritis
- •(2\) BMI 19\-34 kg/m²
- •(3\) ASA score I/II
- •(4\) Willingness and ability to participate in the outpatient therapy and the required follow\-up examinations during the first postoperative year
Exclusion Criteria
- •(1\) Cachexia or obesity that affects the patient's daily life (BMI \< 19 or \> 34 kg/m²).
- •(2\) ASA score \> II,
- •(3\) Active or suspected Infection
- •(4\) Severe heart failure and COPD
- •(1\) Acute spinal disease (e.g., lumboischialgia, disc prolapse, spinal stenosis).
- •(2\) Prior endoprostheses at the lower extremity
- •(3\) Joint, muscular or systemic diseases affecting gait pattern
- •(4\) Neurological diseases affecting cognition
- •(5\) Insufficient knowledge of the German language
